Nothing beats fall on Block Island, so these two, Lauren and Jake decided to take fall engagement photos. On island, you’re able to travel to so many different locations so quickly that it’s easy to get a solid variety of images. The two decided to spend some time at their wedding venue before adventuring on island.
Lauren and Jake have a love of the outdoors, and tennis. In fact, Jake decided to propose to Lauren during a game of tennis by hiding the ring in a tennis ball. Lauren was so surprised by Jake’s ingenuity hiding the ring.
The couple is so excited for their casual Block Island wedding next year. They plan to have a small wedding at the Spring House Hotel, and stay on island for the weekend. Choosing fall for their photos, it’ll be nice to see how the couple grew together next fall.
Instead of straight up posing couples, we tend to prompt folks. By prompting it takes your mind off how you look in the position you’re in and gets you to think more about the prompt and the action you’re being prompted to take. Posing can feel weird, bring insecurities to the surface, so we opt more for prompting and creating natural, vulnerable spaces.
Weave a few colors throughout your clothing — your clothing doesn’t need to match exactly (often that looks a little sterile). Instead, pick out 3-4 colors, and mix and match the colors throughout your clothes. Bring lots of layers to play with the different options, creating different looks and a variety of images.
