Planning a Block Island Wedding

Definitely research research research! I’m assuming that research is what brought you here! The three hardest vendors to book on Block Island are officiants, hair and makeup artists, and DJs. Let me help by offering information about vendors I frequently work with.

Booking a Block Island Officiant:

When getting married on Block Island, you have to make an appointment ahead of time at the town hall to fill out your marriage license. The Town Hall also has a list of officiants I suggest reaching out to them as soon as your venue is booked. Remember that your license must be dropped off at Town Hall within 72 hours of your wedding day.

Booking a Block Island Hair and Makeup Artist:

When it comes to hair and makeup on Block Island: Koru Spa and Salt. Both businesses have years of experience working with brides and bridal parties to achieve the look of your dreams! I would try and book your trials to coincide with venue walk-throughs and an engagement session on the island. Don’t wait as both businesses get booked fast!

Booking a DJ on Block Island:

Here are some DJs that are very commonly used on Block Island that we love working with! John O’Neill is one of the most commonly used DJs on the island. Another DJ I recommend is Dan Moran. He has over a decade of experience in making magical wedding nights!

A DJ is extremely important in making your night magical- make it easy and book your DJ as soon as you’ve booked your venue. I suggest having your DJ arrive a night before the wedding to get situated. They will need help with their gear! There is a ton of gear and I suggest coordinating assistance to get their equipment to the venue. Also, let them know the venue at least two months in advance so that all the challenges can be squashed before your wedding day!
