Originally opened for operation in 1890, it was the only brewery to survive prohibition. The Jaxson is across from the entrance to historic and beautiful Jackson Square. Just a few blocks from St. Louis Cathedral, it is great for receptions as well as weddings. Stroll the the square to listen to live music and watch artists at work. Decatur St. is full of amazing jazz bars and restaurants. The Jaxson: New Orleans
This beautiful venue has an open floor plan, which allows you to truly make the space your own. With french doors that open onto the spacious terrace from the dance floor, the Jaxson is full of natural light. Views of the Mississippi River and sunsets make for ideal wedding photos. Get ready for your day in their gorgeous bridal salon, or take a moment in the outer room. The Jaxson can host weddings of 70 guests to 425, catering to all your needs. Two entrances allow for guests to come and go with ease. The back staircase is perfect for group or couples photos.
Your wedding can be held on the beautiful terrace, or in the large indoor venue. Have your ceremony on the wide terrace, with the Mississippi River in the background. Then, move inside for dinner and and your reception on the large dance floor. Smaller parties can have their wedding dinners in the outer rooms of the bridal salon. After sunset, lanterns on the terrace create a magical feeling as you dance the night away under the stars.
The Bridal Salon
The bridal salon is located on the opposite side of the Jaxson from the event space, creating a quiet place to get ready for the main event. Well-lit rooms welcome you with plush couches and chairs, perfect for dressing and finishing touches. A private bathroom ensures that no one will see you before your ceremony. Have your bridal party gather in this chic room while an included personal attendant makes sure everything is perfect. The salon is available 3 hours before your wedding to ensure that you have enough time to prepare for your big moment.
Wedding Package
Wedding packages at the Jaxson can meet all of your needs. Base wedding packages are for a 3 hour receptions, but additional reception hours are arranged for a fee. An included wedding planner can help you finalize the few details that the Jaxson does not provide, such as a cake and a DJ. There is also a day-of personal attendant to take care of you and your parents, and on-site security. All decor must be approved by the venue, and they offer multiple in-house options.
Catering and bar service are provided by the venue, with buffet or seated dinner options. Gold rimmed china and flatware are provided, as well as a silver cake knife and complimentary champagne toast. The menu is full of New Orleans specialties, like Crab Cakes Bearnaise and Fried Catfish Bites. Likewise, the bar menu offers classic beverages, we suggest trying a Sazerac or a French 75. A state-of-the-art sound system can be used indoors or on the terrace. A projector and stage space are also available.
While there is no parking available at the Jaxson, public parking is available in the area. Please keep in mind that most public lots in the city are pay-to-stay, and can cost up to $30.
