A Classic Newport Wedding
Jamie & Kevon’s Newport wedding was an absolute classic. From the dress to the tux’s, Jamie was intentional and specific with every detail. It helped that she was also down for every hair-brained idea that we had — making for one of the BEST albums evvvvver.
Ironically this is the ONLY venue I have shot at twice in Newport RI. The other wedding here for us was Ashley & Steve in August 2019.

Why you should let your photographer run wild on your wedding day…
Jamie was SO pro us doing our thang on her wedding day and it paid OFF. The two have hundreds of gorgeous, intimate images from their day that show them. We explored a variety of locations around Newport Beach House and at the Wyndham where the two got ready.
When Kevon said they wanted to go on the roof to pop some bottles, I couldn’t say no. So out we went. The guys did a little pushup challenge to get themselves ready to flex those muscles for the camera.

The First Look
If their first look isn’t a reason to do a first look, I don’t know how to help anymore haha! The two were SO DANG EMOTIONAL during their first look AND their walk down the aisle. Doing their first look, as emotional as it was, never took away from their walk down the aisle. And the two were so thankful for those moments together before the party and the chaos of all their friends and family.

Being vulnerable with those around you and secure in YOU.
I’ve gotten to follow Jamie on Insta for almost a year now. Getting to see how confident and secure she is in her skin every day has allowed me to deeply understand why her wedding day felt so uniquely them despite nothing wild and crazy. Jamie and Kevon did all the normal wedding day stuff — bouquet toss, dances, first look — and yet every bit of these traditions that have been done thousands of times, felt uniquely them. The two are so confident in themselves and confident in their love that being themselves is a breeze in front of their family and friends.

Couples Portraits during a Newport Wedding
Because Kevon & Jamie scheduled out their day the way they did it allowed the couple to spend some serious time doing portraits. I always suggest a couples portrait session before the wedding so y’all can have countless images like these +++ you can have them edited and delivered to you before your wedding day.
Your wedding day is a flipping LONG ASS DAY. Subtracting your couple’s portrait session from that timeline = more time with those guests that you’ve spent an average of $245 to spend the day with. So why not have a 3-4 hour session where we can go literally anywhere you want, when we want that day, to have an intimate session with your partner? No friends and fam doing all the things they do, just you and your love and us. We can hit up that diner y’all go to every Sunday morning or the bowling alley you go to celebrate big wins.

Newport Wedding: Amp up those dances
I know dancing is ROUGH. And none of us are freaking pros or think we look good dancing. Trust me, I used to dance professionally — when I was a kid. I doubt I looked solid then and I doubt I look solid now. HOWEVER, letmetellyou how much a solid dance class will help you out and let you ROCK that dance floor.
Taking some time once a week to dance with your parent, or your love also gives you a bit of time with your family or partner as wedding planning keeps itself churning. It’s time to be present and connect with your family or love before your wedding day and that is invaluable.
