Hillsborough State Park Engagement Session
I hooked up with Becca, she’s giving me a massage in exchange, and her fiance in this gorgeous Hillsborough State Park near Tampa. We explored a beautiful state park, that Becca and Joe might use as a venue, finding vastly different spots throughout the park. From suspension bridges to hidden nooks throughout the pathways, it’s a gorgeous park.
How do you chose where to go for your engagement session? Sometimes leaving it up to the photographer can feel a little easier and be easier. Your engagement session should always reflect some part of you and your love story.
If you aren’t into nature, having your engagement session in a park like Hillsborough State Park would make total sense, but if you’re more into the city and living that bougie life, do an engagement session from a parking garage or in a downtown hotel.
What should you wear during your engagement session? I’m always getting this question and it’s so hard to really pick out outfits for folks. I often tell people to either cruise through my Pinterest, OR just wear what makes you feel most comfortable.
At the end of the day, your engagement session pictures should show a bit of your love story and you. Your engagement session doesn’t need to be some crazy Pinterest worthy, People Magazine cover shoot. It should be all about y’all.

Free lensing is one of my favorite techniques to use and create more unique images. Placing with focus and shifting the focus on the camera makes for interesting portraits and photos.
