One of our favorite wedding venues, the Chicory is located in the Warehouse District of New Orleans. Just a few blocks from downtown, it is perfect for an authentic New Orleans wedding. Originally built as a coffee house in 1852, this event space is named after the chicory added to coffee that creates a uniquely New Orleans flavor. The venue also has an attached gallery with a second story parlor for larger parties. The rooftop pavilion is lovely for small ceremonies or cocktail hour. Featuring exposed beams, brick walls, and gas lanterns, The Chicory is a comforting setting, perfect for your special day!
The Chicory: New Orleans Wedding Venue
This wedding venue is over 20,000 square feet, with the ability to accommodate up to 1200 people in 4 different rooms and a rooftop overlooking the city. This wedding venue is the perfect destination for understated elegance with all the charm of the city. The staff are able to make almost any dream come true, and work closely with couples during the planning process. From intimate private dinners to grand New Orleans weddings, the Chicory has just the space you need to make your wedding dreams come true.
The Chicory Building
We love this gorgeous converted warehouse, which is ideal for smaller weddings. An intimate space, the Chicory has two rooms, perfect for ceremonies and receptions. This gorgeous venue is full of open space and whitewashed brick work. The Orleans and Fulton rooms are ideal for a minimalist wedding, or creating a New Orleans-style bash all your own. Hold your ceremony in the Orleans room, then move to the Fulton room for cocktail hour. Take advantage of both rooms for your wedding dinner and to dance the night away. There is also an attached wedding suite for to take a moment away from the rush of the day.
Next Door
The attached building boasts three venues, one on each level. This creates an easy transition from ceremony to reception. On the main floor, you will find the Gallery, perfect for smaller weddings. Exposed beams and mirrors create an amazing amount of space in an intimate setting. There are lovely patios on either side of the building, perfect for a breath of fresh air during the festivities. Take photos on the gorgeous staircase on your way up to the Parlor for your reception.
On the second floor is the Parlor, an open space with plenty of room for dining and dancing. This venue is full of exposed brick, while wood beams are warmed by lights reflecting off the original pressed tin ceilings. Guests can walk out on the balcony to enjoy the view or to get away from the crowded main room. The Parlor is also a great place to hold rehearsal dinners.
The Chicory’s 3,000 sq. ft rooftop deck is an elegant experience with beautiful views of the Warehouse District. Wide benches built into the walls of the deck offer comfortable places for guests to mingle and enjoy the bustle of New Orleans passing below. Take in the sights of the city while dancing the night away on the rooftop deck and enjoy gorgeous sunsets that make ideal backgrounds for wedding photos. This open patio can host weddings of up to 200 people.
Good Things to Know
While there is no parking available at the Chicory, there are numerous pay-to-park lots within a block of the venue. Figuring out which door is the right one can be a little tricky too, since the buildings do not have connecting doors. The Chicory building can be accessed by S. Peter’s St., and the Gallery entrance is located on Fulton St. Venues include buffet catering, with the ability to meet all dietary needs. Bar service is also part of the wedding packages, with house, mid, or top shelf options for beverages. Cake and flowers are not included, but there are so many great bakers and florists in the area that it will be easy to solve that problem.
