An Atlantic Resort Newport Wedding: A summer wedding at the Newport Wyndham Atlantic Resort

We had a blast with Ashley and Steve at their engagement session before their Wyndham Newport wedding. This was one of the first sessions I did just casually walking around a small town. We talked a bit beforehand about my tips for couples sessions.

Getting to know the couple for their Wyndham Newport Wedding

Ashley & Steve have been a favorite for a while! Their super laid back approach to the wedding process showed me how confident they were in marrying each other. I didn’t see any anxiety about making this commitment to one another — it wasn’t taken out in any of the wedding planning, wasn’t something I got to glimpse.

Ashley & Steve have been in love for a long time — they’ve been comfortably in love for a long time. And so celebrating that and committing it was kind of easy (at least from this perspective).

Their Wyndham Newport wedding was held at the Wyndham Newport Resort with the help of Jasmin and Geranium, Alexandria’s Boutique, TUX, Wedding Alchemy, HMUA.

 

Reasons you should always know your surrounding location

Newport RI is a STRUGGLE in the busy summer months, especially on Saturdays. So for this August wedding, we scoped out all of our locations before the day and tried to figure out some solid solutions to traffic and tourists.

The bridge in Newport can cause so many problems, and on Ashley and Steve’s wedding day it very likely almost did. When traffic and the bridge seemed to create doom for Ashley and Steve we switched gears and went to Brenton Point in Newport.

Wedding Florals: Jasmin and Geranium

Jasmin and Geranium did an incredible job with the wedding flowers. The display the boutonnieres came on is something I’ll always remember. Often, the boutonniere packaging is terrible for photography. The team at Jasmin and Geranium cam up with a bark display that photographed perfectly.

Wedding Dress: Spark Bridal

Ashley’s dress was absolutely stunning and super easy to wear and get on. The wedding dress fit her like a glove and didn’t need to be bustled. Ashley’s dress was perfect for hiking trails to do couples portraits and for her to dance her heart out.

Wedding Tux: Aldo’s House of Formals

Steve’s suit fit him perfectly. He wore it well and flattered him well. Like Ashley, he had an easy time dancing and navigating hiking trails, even climbing a ladder in his suit.
